Start button and start menu belong
to Windows 8!

You cannot find the start menu of Windows 8? No wonder, as Microsoft did not adopt the start button, which was traditionally placed at an exposed position on the task bar, for Windows 8; instead, they now rely completely on the new Metro start screen. Official explanation: hardly any users use the start button and the start menu.

We think: Start button and start menu belong to Windows 8!

You agree? Then get back your much-loved habits and attach a bit of Windows 7 nostalgia to your brand-new Windows 8. With our “Win8Starter” software you use start button and start menu as desired: directly on the task bar of the new Windows and always quickly available.

FAQ

Frequent asked questions

  • Where are the settings of Win8Starter?
Exactly where they are in the Windows 7 Start menu: Please click with the right mouse button into the menu - here you can enter also your serial number if you have purchased the Pro version.
  • Is Win8Starter illegal?
Clear answer: No. Win8Starter is no Hack, Patch or Crack and cannot be oppressed by Windows 8 updates.
  • Does Win8Starter change my system fundamentally?
No. Win8Starter requires some registry entries and that’s it. In case of de-installation these are deleted again. This is no intervention to the Windows system, i.e. the software does not change any system settings.
  • What are the differences between free version and full version?
The free version is not limited in time. However, you have no access to the “Settings” menu. The start menu does not automatically adjust to the set menu color and you cannot add your own shortcuts.
  • Why is my start menu so empty after the first start?
Because you have not yet used it. :-) Like in other Windows versions the Win8Starter start menu is only filled in Windows 8 when you use it.
  • Why is the Start button from Win8Starter after installation not quite left?
During installation, the order of the icons can’t be defined in the bottom taskbar. Please move the Win8Starter icon with your mouse to the left side, that’s all.
Go on! Give it a go!
